Mike's Personal Biography Mike is the husband of Janine (Noblin) Underwood; they have three married children and nine grandchildren scattered between Memphis and central Georgia. Together Mike and Janine have served the Lord in various capacities throughout their marriage both foreign and domestically. Domestically, they have served in Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina and Georgia. For several years they worked together in mission campaigns to the island of Jamaica. They also spent a short (hot) time in Nigeria, Africa. In 1992 they moved their family to Sosnogorsk, Russia where they stayed a little over 4 years. From there they came to Atlanta where Mike served as the pulpit minister and an elder for 25 years. During that time Mike completed his undergraduate work in Biblical studies at Amridge University. Since then he has taught in the Bear Valley School of Preaching in Bila Tserkva, Ukraine and in the Georgia School of Preaching and Biblical Studies. In February of 2022, Mike and Janine began working under the eldership of the Blue Ridge Church of Christ. Mike and Janine enjoy being a part of God’s family and particularly of the local family of believers. His passion is to help the Lord’s church realize how invaluable each person is to the purpose and work of God in this world. He says, “When we are what we are supposed to be as the family of God, people in the world will know God has been in their presence.” Mike and Janine are excited about joining the efforts of the Blue Ridge Church of Christ to show the Blue Ridge community our great, glorious and awesome God.
